The line is designed so there is no temperature excursion between freezing and dispatch.
Adjacent to the South Sea and East Sea fishing grounds and to the livestock and aquaculture belt, so catch reaches intake within hours. Distance from source is the single largest factor in freshness.
Cold energy is currently supplied from the Tongyeong LNG terminal. The Korea Southern Power station adjoining the site is to be converted to an LNG combined-cycle plant (construction from 2027, completion targeted for 2029), after which cold energy will come from immediately next door.
Close to Gwangyang Port and Busan Port, so goods are loaded without inland transport. Breaks in the cold chain are minimised.
Inside a designated industrial complex, so lines can be added without relocating.

The electrical room and the ESS were installed and commissioned while construction continues.
